DANNY LEE

Lee is a former New Zealand All Black rugby player and an experienced International coach. His impressive playing background includes over 300+ first class games including Provincial rugby in New Zealand with Hawkes Bay, Counties Manukau and Otago. Super Rugby with the Hurricanes, Chiefs, Highlanders, and Blues and the pinnacle of New Zealand rugby with the All Blacks. He then finished off his illustrious career in Wales playing for the Newport Gwent Dragons. A professional playing career that spanned 17 years.

He then made the transition into coaching, firstly with the Hawkes Bay Magpies in the NPC in NZ as an Assistant Coach (5 years) before entering the Head Coaching arena with Honda in the Top League in Japan.

Lee has now had 1 season under his belt with San Diego Legion, taking them through to the play-offs but has his eye firmly on the prize of winning the 2023 MLR and bringing the Shield back to San Diego.
