Quest for the Shield presents a behind-the-scenes look at the San Diego Legion's journey to become a powerhouse in the world of American rugby. Led by rugby legends Ma'a Nonu, Chris Robshaw, Nate Augspurger, and Joe Pietersen, the documentary captures the Legion's immense challenges, from the setbacks of the COVID-19 pandemic to housing crises, visa complications, injuries, staffing changes, salary cap limitations, and the struggle to build a permanent home.

The film chronicles the team's remarkable evolution – from practicing in local parks to creating makeshift gyms in storage units, before finally securing their home at Snapdragon Stadium. Through it all, the film captures team co-owners Darren Gardner and Ryan Patterson's relentless efforts to thrive and grow the sport of rugby in the United States.
