SD Legion would like to welcome Luke back to sunny San Diego! Luke is an experienced professional rugby player who began his career in his hometown Perth, Australia. He played three seasons for the Super Rugby team Western Force. Luke then moved to France, where he played two seasons for Biarritz, and then headed to the USA and played in the inaugural season with SD Legion before signing with the LA Giltinis.

“It’s great to have Luke back in SD Legion colors heading into the 2023 season. Luke’s a quality player that can cover several positions, making him a major asset to our squad,” from Danny Lee, Head Coach.

We want to welcome Marcel to San Diego Legion! Marcel is a Cali local as he was born in LA before moving to South Africa, where he was raised and began his rugby career. He played four seasons with the Western Province in the Currie Cup and Vodacom Cup and made an appearance for the Stormers in the Super Rugby Competition. Marcel then moved to Australia to continue his rugby career with the Western Force, making 58 appearances for the team.

Marcel has been a proud member of the USA Eagles since 2016, playing 28 test matches, including playing in the 2019 World Cup, and is currently representing the USA in South Africa. We look forward to seeing Marcel on the field in our Legion colors this season.

“Marcel is a true quality player that will add a huge amount to our side this year. He’s an experienced player that we will lean on, both on and off the field,” from Head Coach Danny Lee.

“Nate has gone from strength to strength within his development on the field, making him one of the first picked every week. His work ethic, passion, and commitment to the game are second to none, resulting in his recent selection in the USA squad” from Head Coach Danny Lee.
