On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, the Major League Rugby reigning champions and our friendly rivals, Seattle Seawolves, joined us in Las Vegas, NV for a pre-season scrimmage.
During the scrimmage, both teams engaged in 20-minute game blocks. These provided an opportunity to practice scrum and lineout formations, strike plays and scenario based situations, concluding with a match scrimmage, played in accordance with Major League Rugby rules and referees.
Overall, the San Diego Legion performed very well in key areas that will produce much success during the 2021 season of Major League Rugby. While our squad’s performance had moments of brilliance, this team hit out gave Co-Head Coaches Scott Murray and Zack Test an opportunity to identify areas of improvement before the season begins next Saturday, March 20, 2021.
One thing is for certain - iron sharpens iron, indeed. The San Diego Legion is ready for #MLR2021 and hope all fans will join us in the exciting season ahead!
