Career Highlights

Tiaan Loots was born in Cape Town, South Africa and attended Boland Agricultural High School. He played club rugby with Durbell RFC and then attended North-West University in Potchefstroom where he played for the NWU Pukke.

While at the university, he played in the Under-19 and Under-21 Provincial competition, as well as the NWU sevens. He also played with the Western Province touring side, the Leopards. In 2011 he was with the Under-18s, in 2012 with the Under-21s and also with the Sevens team.

From 2014-2018 he moved to Wales and played with RGC 1404. The first two years the team played in the Championship and then won promotion to the Principality Premiership. In 2017 the team won the Welsh Rugby Union National Cup.

During the 2018-2019 season, he played with the Newport Gwent Dragons in the Guinness Pro14 and in 2019 with Cross Keys in the Premiership.

In 2020, Tiaan signed for the Houston SaberCats, playing four games for them. As an aggressive playing center, Tiaan is expected to have an impact on the San Diego Legion backline.
